The
SEEMATZ marine searchlights are constructed of seawater proof aluminium
and have extra hardened safety front panes. The reflectors are of aluminium.
Series HGS, HMI and ZH have thermostatically controlled heating.
These searchlights enjoy ease of servicing since the rear is removeable
without using tools, by means of stainless steel quick release snaps.
As the cable glands as well are located at the rear, the complete sub-
assembly consisting of mirror, socket, lamp and heating are removable
for servicing or replacement of lamps
This may be of prime importance in cases of heavy weather conditions.
The stand-mounted types to be operated from the wheel house are totally
watertight and very easy to install, simply by a single hole cut in the
vessels ceiling.
Most models can be equiped easily with a signalling shutter.

SERIES AND TYPES
The SEEMATZ searchlights are grouped in series according to their type
of light source and their diameter.
These series are:
Series
HGS = Halogen Lamps
Series HBO= High Pressure Mercury Lamps
Series HMI = Metal Halide Vapour Lamps
Series XBO = Xenon Short-Arc Lamps
Series ZH = Tin Halide Lamps
All series are assembled
with similar elements, in 4 sizes with diameters of 273,351,463 or 525
mm.

HGS Halogen Lamps
These lamps are the base of the extensive SEEMATZ range of advanced marine
searchlights, and are suitable for many types of vessels and tasks.
Available from 24v to 220v. No compass interference from a distance of
0.5mm. Thermostatically controlled heating is standard.

HBO High Pressure
Mercury Lamps
These are wellknown searchlights for sailing in polar areas. The extremely
long range bluish - white light gets maximum reflection back from the
ice.
The main advantage in this series is the small size combines with the
greatest range. A warm up time of approx 1.5 minutes. No compass interference
from a distance of 0.5mm. Thermostatically controlled heating is standard.

HMI Metal Halide
Vapour Lamps
Suited as search and working light due to scattered angle, as used by
trawlers and tugboats.
A warm up time of approx 1.5 minutes. No compass interference from a distance
of 0.5mm, power supply from 2 m Thermostatically controlled heating is
standard.

XBO Short Arc Lamps
These are multi purpose searchlights in the super class. They have illumination
as daylight and enormous ranges and actually turn night into day.Very
suitable for all types of vessels needing a maximum luminous efficacy.
Available from 75 w to 7000w. No warm up time. No compass interference
from a distance of 0.5mm, power supply from 2 m. Thermostatically controlled
heating is standard.

ZH Tin Halide Lamps
Suited as working light at a relatively close range e.g in fishing boats
and trawlers.
A warm up time of approx 1.5 minutes. No compass interference from a distance
